Introducing Kara

Kara Dombroski has been the dedicated secretary of Friends of CASA of Portage County  since August 2022. With a wealth of experience in financial development and a background spanning public health, fundraising, and youth services, she has become a key figure in the organization’s mission to serve the foster children and families of Portage County.

A seasoned professional, Kara has had a remarkable career trajectory. She is currently employed at OK, Inc – an educational non-profit that serves over 16,000 students in 100 schools throughout Northeast Ohio. Prior to her current role, she held positions at The American Red Cross, Kendall/Covidien Healthcare , and Konica Business Machines. Notably, she served as the president of Women’s Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland and is currently a valued member of the Finance Council at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Aurora.

Outside of her professional commitments, Kara is a passionate individual with diverse interests and hobbies. She actively engages in golf and tennis, demonstrating her commitment to a well-rounded and healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, she devotes her time to volunteer work and fundraising initiatives for organizations dedicated to youth development.

Kara graduated in 1987 from John Carroll University with a degree in Marketing from the Bohler School of Business. Family holds a special place in her heart, as she is happily married to Ken and is the proud parent of two grown children, Julie and Erik.

In essence, Kara exemplifies a multifaceted professional whose dedication to education, youth services, and community involvement makes her an invaluable asset to Friends of CASA of Portage County and the broader community.
